A Thank You To Karin Jurick - Pastel Original Portrait

My Pastel of

The photo of Karin I worked from.

Probably most of you know that I participate, from time to time, in the painting challenges on Different Strokes from Different Folks, a blog hosted by Karin Jurick.  I was contacted a month or so ago by Jill Polsby to participate in a "Thank You" to Karin by all of us painting her portrait.   I'm not going to go into the details but do please read Jill's blog for those.  I'm not feeling too well, I have pneumonia and just not up to writing a whole lot right now but didn't want to let the day go by without posting this and to say Thank You to Karin for all her time and effort in doing the DSFDF blog.

So sorry to hear that you are not well. Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks for posting the link to all 118 portraits. I find it fascinating that one portrait can be interpreted in so many different ways!

Great job on your portrait Karen, it has a beautiful soft feel to it.

So sorry you aren't well, Karen. I have been there so know what you are going through! The portrait is beautiful and it was such fun to view all the other submissions. Amazing the variety of interpretations of the same subject.

Thanks Becky - I am finally feeling better - and should be back to normal soon. I'm glad you like the portrait - it was fun to do.

Hi Jo - thank you! Yep being sick is a bummer - wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Dominque - thank you so much!

Patricia thanks for visiting my blog - so glad you enjoyed seeing all the portraits - it really is neat to see how one reference can be done so many different ways. I use velour paper and I think that helps it to look soft. Glad you liked it.

Hey Carolina - thank you so much for your good wishes and compliments.

Thanks Pattie - I appreciate it. Hope you are managing with all the weather you have been getting. Stay warm and well.

Karen thanks so much! This was a fun project - I'm sure Karin was blown away when she say them all.
