Merry Christmas!

This year I haven't done much in the way of  Christmas decorating since I've been remodeling a room in my house and my entire house seems to be turned upside down.  So I bought a little "Charlie Brown" tree.  With that little tree and all the wonderful Christmas cards I have received from around the world - well it just makes me smile. I ended up buying one for my office and even sent one to my grandson. He was thrilled with it.

One evening I did a small pastel of my version of my Christmas tree.
This has reminded me how sometimes we get so caught up with all the perfect decorations, buying just the right gifts, cooking the perfect meal, and all the other activities that we do to "celebrate" Christmas we forget why we are celebrating.

It is really very simple. The reason for Christmas is the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Although he wasn't born on December 25th,  we celebrate that day. He was born in a simple manger, where animals were fed.  However, there was fanfare!  Angels - a multitude of heavenly host raised their voices praising God and saying "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

So when you get caught up in the hustle and bustle of every day life, whether it is Christmas or not, give God thanks for sending His son - after all He is the greatest gift ever given to man!

Thank You Lord!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Luke 2:11-14
King James Version (KJV)
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Sara, Thank you so much for your comment. I'm so glad to have you here. I haven't been posting much lately - in the middle of doing a room remodel myself and it has taken a little longer than I expected - hope to be finished soon and posting again. I'm looking forward to getting to know you too! Thanks again for dropping in.
